Simoncini 1999, steel road bike. Sizing is 53cm bb to seat clamp. Top tube is 52cm. As you will see from the picture, there’s plenty of seatpost to play with and the stem is 130mm. By modern sizing I’d say this falls into the lower end of Medium sizing and would suit someone up to 5’9” or so. I’m 5’11” and it’s fits me just fine but would suggest it’s bottom end of sizing for this height.
This is a lovely example in very good used condition, the original paint is in an overall excellent state with a few use and age related marks.
All Simoncini details and touches are present, brake bridge, bb housing etc and the important Simoncini head tube logo.
The groupset is full Shimano Dura ace 8 speed and shifts perfectly, brake calipers are matching Dura ace. The levers are of the same era but mismatched, the previous owner replaced one failed lever. Personally I don’t feel it detracts from the appearance of the bike. Chainrings have been replaced at some point and are branded Cannondale, again not something that detracts from the condition/appearance.
Wheels are some period cool Rolf Vector Pro in gold, these look perfect on the bike, are light, run true, smooth bearings and are in good order. They’re absolutely of the time and suit the bike. Brand new Schwalbe Lugano tyres are fitted in 25mm width and are the obligatory gumwall.
Finishing kit is Cinelli 1a stem and Cinelli bar. The stem had the typical failed hidden bolt so is replaced with a conventional nut and bolt. The bars are wrapped with new tape.
The saddle is a Selle flite titanium rail and well used but appears original to the bike so I’ve left it in place.

This bike comes from a respected small manufacturer from an era of tight clearances and aggressive geometry, it would make for a really nice entry into road cycling as a bike that’s well specced, comfortable for long periods being steel but is aggressive and light enough to be fast out on the road. The condition is generally very good and has been well looked after by the previous owner. It would also make just a nice addition to your collection for a late 90s neo retro steel bike, it gets down the road really nicely and will look awesome at the coffee stop.

Shipping will be £65 insured and tracked - I can do it cheaper but I feel this offers the best protection for both parties, the bike is shipped in a bike box and will need some minor re-assembling. Local collection is available.
