A full recommission custom build touring bike. Built around a vintage hand-built steel frame from respected frame builder Dave Yates, an early frame(606 serial number) from his time at M Steel. Frame size 58cm BB to seat collar, top tube 56cm.
The frame is in outstanding condition for its age of over 40 years old, the paint is excellent with a few expected age and use related marks, the colour looks amazing in the sun. One small ding on the top tube is visible in the photos, looks to be from storage and isn’t structural and equally doesn’t detract from the overall condition of the bike.
The build is from a proper touring bare frame with brazed on fork rack mounts and has achieved a really well specced bike that’s ready to go touring, hang your panniers on it and head off! The ride is superb, compliant, just as a steel bike should feel. The sort of quality you only achieve on a hand-built steel bike.
This is our interpretation of an ideal tourer, simple considered spec that’s all assembled around a lovely frame. The modern touches add to its usability and comfort. Anyone heading off adventuring will love riding this.

10 Speed Shimano Ultegra 6750 Crankset, front derailleur and STI shifters.

V-Brake (Direct/Linear Pull)
Rear derailleur is Shimano Deore allowing a wider range cassette to be used for lower gearing at 11-34t. Brand new cassette and KMC chain.
Brand new Tektro V-brakes
Brand new sealed bearing, touring wheel set fitted with brand new Continental tyres in 28mm width adding to the ride quality.
Brand new system pedals, double sided to allow SPD or flat shoes.
Bars are Deda with 120mm Deda stem, fitted using a quill adapter. Converting the steerer to take modern bar and stem.
New Deda tan bar tape and new Madison Flux tan saddle.
All ancillary parts are brand new, external bottom bracket, headset and cabling throughout.
Full racks front and rear are brand new again.
Elite alloy bottle cages are included - no lost bottles on the bumpy roads mid tour!
